Porta di Roma

Every time we go to do a big shop, at the big mall just outside of Rome (called Porta di Roma), we come back without something we purchased. It's a mystery. Last time, Josh bought two books and they never made it back to our villa. Today, we bought a 3 kilo bag of clementines and they never made it to the trunk of our car. I don't know what it is...is it the bigness of the place? the overwhelming feeling of loading up on as much as you can because you don't want to ever go back? or just that the cart gets too full and so things inevitably fall out? Anyways, that is how we spent the better part of the day -- shopping.

At home, I cooked up a yummy artichoke ravioli -- this item did make it home -- and then wrapped Hanukkah gifts before picking the kids up at school. Olivia and Avery are both excited about their holiday concerts to be held later this week. Charlotte had an altercation with a boy during recess which led to bloodshed. He (intentionally?) hit her in the mouth! Other than that, it was a regular day. Olivia had her swim lesson today, Charlotte had swim practice, and Avery had a nap.

Josh hates when I cook fish at home because it stinks up the house, but boy is it good. I grilled fresh salmon and the kids couldn't get enough. Aside from the usual salt, pepper, olive oil and lemon marinade, on a whim, I added honey. Seemed to work out.
