When Olivia woke up this morning, she thought everyone else was asleep. So, she thoughtfully and quietly went downstairs to watch TV and wait for everyone else to rise. But when she got down to the kitchen, Daddy was already there with his coat on, ready to leave. He told Olivia he had to go to the U.S. Embassy to get more pages in his passport before our trip to Egypt. So, Olivia went to watch T.V. and shortly thereafter was joined by Avery. Then, Mommy came down and made breakfast for Olivia and Avery. Afterwards, they decided to play a game in the sun room. It was a singing game as if they were preparing for a show. In the process of getting her "costume," Olivia inadvertently woke Charlotte up. Once Charlotte was awake, she had the idea of making birthday cards for Daddy. So all three, sat up in the girls' room with markers, paper, scissors and tape creating a masterpiece together. They worked on the card for quite a while. Mommy wasn't home anymore because she went to get her nails done. Daddy was back from the Embassy working on his computer. Charlotte went down to make breakfast and then she practiced on the piano.
Morris came over to help out today and he decided to make a cake with Olivia and Avery. They used ginger, flour, baking powder and bananas and butter to make the delicious cake. Then, Daddy wanted to go out to the carnival for his birthday and he asked everyone to get dressed. When Charlotte was getting dressed, she stubbed her pinky-toe. Apparently, Charlotte and Olivia had gotten into a fight and while Charlotte was running away from Olivia she stubbed her toe. It was bleeding, and she cried and Daddy had to put a band-aid on it.
Then, Daddy got everyone into the car and the came to pick Mommy up at the nail place. We drove to the carnival (Piazza Navona) but there was a lot of traffic and it took a long time to get there. We looked at all the games and prizes. Daddy gave everyone 5 euros for playing games or going on rides. We looked for the easiest game; we found the horse race game which is based on getting balls to fall into holes. Olivia won her first race and then lost the next two but she still got a prize. Charlotte lost her first and only horse race to Olivia -- now she was out of money because beforehand she had already played a game where you throw rings onto prizes to get a prize. But Charlotte did not get any rings on, so she did not get anything. Charlotte was sad. Avery tried the horse-race game once too, but he didn't win. He chose to use the rest of his money to ride on the merry-g0-round -- TWICE!
We left to go home for lunch. Mommy made fish and everyone really liked it except for Olivia. Olivia prefers the fish with all the bones in it. After lunch, we all got to eat more of the cake that Avery and Olivia had baked in the morning.
Now, finished with the bath, it's time for Olivia and Mommy to bake a big chocolate birthday cake together for Daddy. Daddy left to get Charlotte's phone fixed so we can do it as a surprise!
