The day started with Avery's parent-teacher conference. It's good to know that he's passing his "transition" year (the equivalent of junior kindergarten) and is able to write his name in upper and lower case letters. Afterwards, I had my last Italian class of the semester. It was supposed to rain all day (I was sporting my wellingtons!) but it turned out to be drier than expected so I had a nice long walk home through the Villa Borghese, and enjoyed my favorite view in all of Rome from the top of Piazza del Popolo. Once home, I prepared a delicious lunch for myself; wine included. Then I went to RIS to collect the children.
Later I stunk up the house again, making fish for dinner, this time with garlic and a side dish of risotto. It was only later when I was putting Olivia to bed that she confessed she hadn't finished her homework. Olivia is always trying to shirk on her homework! She doesn't seem to mind the repercussions at school. She's hard to figure out, that one.
To top off the day, I settled in to watch an episode of Desperate Housewives followed by Brothers & Sisters. Ahhh, felt just like home.
