First facial in seven months!

The time had come, my skin needed to be cleaned, toned, pampered and massaged. So, I scheduled a facial appointment with the woman who's been waxing my legs at the hair salon. Candles were lit in the room, the lights were low, and the table was heated. It was all very relaxing. Several types of exfoliants, creams, lotions and a mask were applied. But in the end, the lights never came on, the magnifying lens never came up, and no extracting (squeezing) was performed....so as not to enlarge the pores, of course. Truly a different experience than the no-nonsense, go over every pore with a fine-toothed comb approach from my Chicago esthetician. I'm so accustomed to the "no pain, no gain" philosophy, it's hard to believe this type of soothing facial can actually be beneficial. It's too early to judge the results; I'll try to keep an open mind.

Otherwise, I caught up on Oscar night news; I exercised; I went to the market; I collected the kids from school; I enjoyed the amazing light in this beautiful city.
